Bečići Beach – The Most Beautiful Sandy Beach on the Montenegrin Coast
Table of Contents
Bečići Beach
I absolutely love Montenegro — and as I’m writing this, I’m sitting right here, soaking in the view of the most beautiful beach I know: Bečići Beach. It’s no surprise this is my favorite spot (and not just mine!). Every summer, it fills up quickly — accommodation gets booked out fast, and by late morning, it’s already hard to find a free spot on the beach. Everyone wants to be here.
Bečići is a hidden gem on the Montenegrin coast. Its long, sandy beach surrounded by crystal-clear water, pine trees, and luxury hotels is one of the most visited beaches in the country. Here, nature, comfort, and fun come together — no wonder it attracts families, couples, adventurers, and anyone looking for both relaxation and excitement in one place.
Why Bečići Beach Is Ideal for Your Summer Escape
Bečići Beach stretches for about 2 kilometers, with soft sand and a gentle slope into the sea — perfect for families with kids. The beach is surrounded by hotels, apartments, and a beautiful seaside promenade that connects you to Budva on one end and Rafailovići (and even Kamenovo) on the other.
The water is clean, warm, and regularly maintained. There’s a public section where anyone can lay down their towel, as well as organized areas with sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent. This means you can just bring your towel, find a free spot, and if you feel like changing scenery, you can easily move — anywhere along the 2 km stretch.
Right now in June, the water is so clear you can see tiny fish swimming in the shallows. My advice? Plan your vacation in June for fewer crowds and cleaner beaches — or September. If you don’t mind the hustle and bustle, July and August are still magical.
Things to Do at Bečići Beach
Whether you’re looking to chill out, stay active, or try something adventurous, Bečići Beach has something for everyone:
- 🏖️ Sunbeds and umbrellas – There’s a free public area, or you can rent a set if you prefer more comfort.
- 🍹 Beach bars and restaurants – No matter what you’re craving, there’s food and drinks just steps away — wherever you are on the beach.
- 🛶 Pedal boats, jet skis, and SUP boards – Easy to rent and super fun!
- 🪂 Parasailing – For an unforgettable aerial view of the bay .
- 🛥️ Paragliding – Go tandem or solo and enjoy breathtaking views of the Budva Riviera.
- 🛍️ Souvenir stands and beach shops – Forgot your flip-flops or sunscreen? No worries — you’ll find everything here, along with great souvenirs to take home.
Where Is Bečići Beach and How to Get There?
Bečići is located in the municipality of Budva, right between the city of Budva and the town of Rafailovići — making it a perfect base. You’re 10–30 minutes from just about anywhere in the area, and most tours and transfers depart from Bečići.
If you love Budva but want a more relaxed place to stay, Bečići is a great alternative — often with more affordable accommodations.
Distances:
- 🚗 Budva city center – 2 km (5–10 min by car or a 20–30 min seaside walk)
- ✈️ Tivat Airport – 24 km (30–40 min)
- ✈️ Podgorica Airport – 65 km (1 hr 15 min)
- 🏝️ Sveti Stefan – 6 km
- 🏰 Kotor – 30 km
How to get there:
- 🚗 By car – via the Adriatic highway
- 🚶 On foot – along the promenade from Budva or Rafailovići

- 🚖 By taxi – from Budva it’s usually €5–15 (always agree on the price beforehand to avoid overpaying)
- 🚤 By boat – seasonal tours and transfers available
ℹ️ You’ll also find several tourist info points along the beach offering gear rental and tour bookings.
Tips for Visitors
- 🕘 Arrive early – Best spots go quickly. Aim for before 10 AM.
- 💸 Sunbed prices – Expect to pay around €10–20 for a set (2 loungers + umbrella).
- 🚗 Parking – Several private parking lots are nearby, but they fill up fast in peak season.
- 🌅 Sunsets – Spectacular from the promenade — perfect for photos.
- 👣 Evening walk to Budva – Beautifully lit and full of life after dark.
Where to Stay in Bečići?
Bečići offers a wide range of accommodation options to suit every budget – from luxury beachfront hotels to affordable private apartments just a short walk from the sea. The area below the main coastal road (magistrala) is mostly lined with hotels and resorts, many of which offer private beach access, pools, spa services, and even all-inclusive packages. If you’re looking for convenience and comfort, this is the place to be.
On the other hand, above the main road, you’ll find numerous private apartments and guesthouses – often with beautiful sea views and much more affordable rates. In June, you can find a cozy apartment for two starting at just €35 per night (without meals). It’s a great choice if you prefer peace and quiet, more privacy, and the flexibility to cook or eat out on your own schedule.
No matter where you stay, Bečići is compact and well-connected – with the beach, shops, restaurants, and promenade all within easy walking distance.
